New York Times Article on Regulation of EU Cloud Quotes Hogan Lovells

Earlier this week, The New York Times published “Europe Aims to Regulate the Cloud,” an article considering the impact on cloud computing of the proposed European Data Protection Regulation. Among other aspects, it discussed the impact on the draft Regulation of the disclosures of surveillance by former U.S. National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden earlier this year, the resultant tightening of provisions of the draft Regulation impacting cloud computing involving personal data, and some of the U.S.-EU conflict of laws issues which may arise.
