Australia's Pathway to a Hydrogen Energy Future

The move to a low carbon energy industry is now firmly underway in Australia, with the Commonwealth and most State governments publishing and executing long term strategies to develop the hydrogen energy industry in Australia. Our Australian Hydrogen Update Paper, along with its accompanying Australian Hydrogen Projects Paper, have been prepared to assist developers, investors, project sponsors and energy buyers seeking to better understand the opportunities and challenges in the emerging Australian hydrogen industry.

Our Australian Hydrogen Update Paper provides an overview of Australia’s emerging hydrogen industry, the long-term investment logic for hydrogen development projects, the status of the legal framework required for this, and the current Government strategies promoting hydrogen development projects. It can be read in conjunction with our Australian Hydrogen Projects Paper which sets out Australia's current hydrogen pilot projects, refuelling projects and feasibility studies that are currently funded or shortlisted for development, as well as the current Australian funding initiatives that have assisted in progressing these projects.
