Giulio Piperno

Giulio Piperno is a Counsel in our Italian Restructuring and Special Situations practice, advising domestic and international clients on complex finance transactions and distressed scenarios.

He assists clients on insolvency, debt restructuring and distressed M&A operations, as well as the acquisition and disposal of distressed assets on behalf of investment funds and financial institutions. His work often involves designing and implementing innovative solutions for highly regulated and multi-jurisdictional matters, including negotiated compositions with creditors, rescue plans, and structured recapitalisations.

Giulio has gained considerable experience in corporate law, with particular reference to extraordinary transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial litigation. In his role as Counsel, he regularly leads negotiations with multiple stakeholders, coordinates cross-border teams, and manages intricate corporate and litigation issues arising in the context of restructuring processes and special situations. His ability to combine technical precision with strategic insight makes him a trusted advisor for clients navigating complex financial and industrial distress.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Giulio worked at leading Italian law and international firms, where he developed a strong background in corporate, restructuring and special situations.
