Hugo Petit is an international arbitration associate in our Singapore office. Hugo trained with the firm’s Paris and Hong Kong offices prior to joining the team in Singapore, and has experience working on arbitrations under leading institutional rules in both civil and common law systems.

Having lived most of his life in Asia and completed his higher education in France, Hugo is happiest when dealing with complex cross-border issues involving multiple jurisdictions. Hugo specialised in international law, litigation and arbitration during his time in law school, and has acted for clients in the aerospace, financial and energy industries over the course of his legal training.

Hugo is a keen sport enthusiast, and is involved in the firm’s pro bono work advising sport federations and sport‑based charities globally.

Representative experience

Advising a leading PRC technology services conglomerate in a USD 200 million series of related put option/shareholding disputes with several investors.

Advising a leading American chemicals company in a EUR 100 million post-acquisition dispute against a French conglomerate in the heavy chemicals/aerospace industry.

Securing a win for a Bolivian company facing corruption allegations in a commercial dispute against a leading European aeronautics conglomerate.*
