Hao-Kai Pai leverages his past experience as an economic policy analyst and his language skills to assist clients on a range of issues related to international trade, including export controls, economic sanctions, trade remedies, customs, and foreign investment reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

While at New York University School of Law, Hao-Kai interned at the Office of General Counsel at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the chambers of Judge Timothy C. Stanceu on the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the Tokyo office of a large international law firm. He also served as a Senior Executive Editor of the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics and the Public Practice Co-Chair of the International Law Society.

Prior to law school, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Harvard University with Magna Cum Laude, studied at Keio University in Tokyo for one year through the Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Scholarship, and worked at a major think tank as an economic policy research associate.
