Yen is an Associate in the Corporate and Finance practice group. She works closely with banks, international finance institutions and corporate borrowers across a variety of cross-border banking and finance transactions. Her experience includes advising on general bilateral and syndicated lendings, onshore-offshore financings and real estate financings.
Yen is Singapore-qualified and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. She takes a keen interest in pro bono work, particularly in the matters concerning environmental, social and governance issues.
Representative experience
Acted for a syndicate of banks on the S$252 million offshore facilities to DBS Trustee Limited (in its capacity as trustee of BHG Retail REIT), as part of an onshore-offshore financing transaction.*
Acted for a syndicate of banks in respect of a secured term loan facility to provide general corporate funding and working capital to a major electricity supplier and retailer in Singapore.*
Acted for a major Singapore bank in the grant of a secured facility to a leading PRC-affiliated retail enterprise, to finance the acquisition of a partial stake in a shopping mall located in China.*
Acted for the borrower in respect of the facilities granted by a Malaysian bank for the acquisition of a majority stake in a ophthalmology business in Singapore.*
Acted for the lender in relation to a Shariah-compliant green loan facility to a leading hospitality business in Singapore, to finance its capital restructuring and a major hotel renovation project.*
Acted as Singapore counsel to a lender, being a multinational semiconductor group, for the purposes of financing and collaborating on a new production facility in Asia.*
