Awards & rankings | 08 June 2023

Washington D.C., 8 June, 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells made another strong showing in the North American market as Chambers published its 2023 rankings for lawyers and practice groups based in the United States. Twenty of the firm’s practice groups were ranked in Band 1, a slight increase from 2022 and more than double the number ranked in 2021, while 174 lawyers were individually ranked, up from 165 in 2022. Of those, 34 lawyers were ranked in Band 1.

Among nationwide practice groups, we rose to the top band in Appellate and Corporate/M&A, alongside several others including perennially top ranked teams in REITs, Privacy & Data Security, International Trade (Trade Remedies & Policy), and Life Sciences (Regulation: Advisory). Additionally, we were ranked in Band 1 for Government Relations: Congressional Investigations, having previously been unranked. Several other groups were ranked nationally and at a state level.

Individually, our lawyers excelled again, with 14 being selected in Band 1 Nationwide and another 20 achieving a top state ranking. Washington, D.C. partner Mike Mason rose to Band 1 in two nationwide categories, Government Contracts and Government Contracts: Bid Protests. Elsewhere, Global Head of our Corporate & Finance practice David Bonser was selected in Band 1 for REITs, as were the co-heads of our Appellate practice, Neal Katyal and Cate Stetson. A further 10 were selected as “Senior Statespeople.”
