25 April 2023 – Hogan Lovells has launched a new Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Global Legal Guide. The innovative legal tech tool, launched today, examines the legal and regulatory frameworks in 22 jurisdictions to keep a pulse on increasing scrutiny for cross-border M&A and investment.
The guide provides insight into and comparison of FDI screening regimes in 22 key jurisdictions in the Americas (Brazil, Mexico, USA), Asia-Pacific (Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Singapore and Vietnam), and EMEA (France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom) where Hogan Lovells has offices.
The guide includes a summary of key features including the types of transactions subject to mandatory or voluntary filing, principal authorities, look-back period, test for intervention, extraterritorial reach, timeline for review and potential penalties.
