Hogan Lovells advises Rolls-Royce on sale of off-highway engines business to Deutz
Led by Munich partner Dr Nikolas Zirngibl, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Friedrichshafen-based Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG on the sale of its off-highway engine business in the power range of up to 480 kW to Cologne-based Deutz AG. The purchase price lies in the high double-digit million euro range. The transaction is expected to be completed in mid-2024, subject to the granting of regulatory approvals.
Subject of the transaction are the low power range diesel engines and engine systems based on Daimler technology, which are developed and manufactured by Daimler Truck AG for Rolls-Royce Power Systems according to its specifications and are mainly used in agricultural and forestry vehicles.
The sale of this business division is in line with Rolls-Royce's new strategy to position itself for the future. The Power Systems division will focus on the strategic growth areas of power generation, government business, marine and service as well as the future field of battery storage systems.
