Double win for Hogan Lovells at The British Legal awards

Press releases | 30 November 2023

30 November 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is delighted to announce that it has won the Property team of the Year award at The British Legal Awards. Senior Associate Ademola Bamgbose was also awarded the Unsung Hero award for his role in helping to advance African business and arbitration. Hogan Lovells was the only firm to win more than one award on the night.

The Real Estate team was recognised for its work advising The Crown Estate on an innovative live auction process designed to unlock the delivery of renewable power to over 7 million homes via six new offshore wind farms. The team advised The Crown Estate throughout the Offshore Wind Leasing Project from the early concept design stages, throughout an initiative live/tender process and, looking to the future, to the implementation of these nationally-significant projects following the completion of the Agreements.

Ademola was recognised for his role in helping to advance African business and arbitration and for his impressive client work in Africa which includes playing a significant role in advising Spotify on its broadest expansion to date, the launch of its streaming services in over 80 new markets across Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean.

Commenting on the win, Penny Angell, UK Managing Partner, said: "We are delighted to have won the Property Team of the Year award at this year's British Legal Awards. These awards recognise our continued success and give the whole team the recognition it deserves. Supporting future generations of lawyers is crucial to ensuring a strong talent pipeline for our clients and our firm. We are very proud of Ademola’s achievements this year including the deserved recognition of his hard work and valued contribution, with this important award."

In addition to winning the Property team of the Year and Unsung Hero awards, the firm was also shortlisted in the Partner of the Year, Competition / Regulatory team of the Year and Standout in DE&I categories.
