Alejandro focuses on complex international and domestic disputes. As a Junior Associate of the Dispute Resolution team in Madrid, he has participated in the resolution of commercial and civil disputes in arbitration proceedings under different rules (including ICC, CAM, CIMA and CEA) and different governing laws, representing companies of the construction, engineering, infrastructure, real estate and finance sectors. Alejandro also has experience before the Spanish civil and commercial Courts.

From a cross-cutting perspective, Alejandro has acquired the knowledge to dissect the disputes and look for an economically advantageous solution. He also maintains an active pro bono practice and recently advised, for example, a hospital in Madrid.

Alejandro usually works in Spanish and English.

Representative experience

Representing a Luxembourg multinational group in the arbitration proceedings commenced by its partner in a joint venture for a global real estate project.

Acting for part of the members of the Spanish consortium for the construction of a railway project in the Middle East in the arbitration in respect to the internal disputes within the consortium.

Representing a Spanish construction company in an ICC arbitration against a public entity in relation to a FIDIC contract for the construction of a highway in the Balkans.

Representing a Colombian company in the enforcement proceedings of an international award before the Spanish courts.

Advising a Spanish shipyard in the pre-contentious phase and the commencement of the arbitration against its shipowner in respect of the contractual dispute arising from the construction of a vessel.

Acting for a Spanish company in an arbitration proceedings against its contractor in a dispute related to the construction of a pulp-to-energy plant.
