Laura Leonelli is an Associate in our Banking and Finance department. She provides legal advice to clients across various sectors, focusing on cross-border financings, real estate development financings, and corporate finance transactions - including acquisitions, asset finance, and leveraged buy-outs - as well as project financing from both lender and borrower perspectives.

Laura works with clients in diverse industries such as real estate, energy, financial institutions, and manufacturing. This broad exposure equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by large corporations, banks, credit funds, private equity sponsors, and their financial advisors.

With a strong dedication to client service and a commitment to excellence, Laura is consistently available to support clients with their legal matters.

Before joining Hogan Lovells in 2021, Laura gained valuable experience at a primary national law firm. She graduated with a Law degree from LUISS Guido Carli University in 2021 and completed an LLM in Corporate and Financial Law at the University of Glasgow.

Representative experience

Assistance to a primary international debt fund on credit lines of €37 million to finance a 32.60 MW portfolio of photovoltaic projects in Puglia, Umbria, Marche, Sardinia and Emilia Romagna.

Assistance to an investment fund, as Collateral Agent, and an international debt fund, in relation to the €24.2 million credit lines to finance a 41.1 MW photovoltaic plant in Montalto di Castro.

Assistance to the lenders  in the €1.65 billion sustainability-linked loan to the primary Italian owner of transmission grid for high and extra-high voltage electricity.

Assistance to a syndicate of bank and alternative lenders in the financing of approximately £1.25 billion for a vet group of companies to finance their operations and refinance group debt.

Assistance to a global private equity firm on a €121.5m credit facilities by a credit fund to finance the acquisition and refinancing of a group owning hospitality facilities in Italy and Saint Barts.
