Lennart-Knud Liefeith is a German patent attorney and a professional representative before the European Patent Office and the Unified Patent Court. He advises and represents clients in patent validity proceedings and patent infringement proceedings.

Lennart-Knud studied and received his doctorate in physics with a focus on solid-state physics at the University of Hamburg and also the Hokkaido University in Japan. During this time, he primarily worked in the field of semiconductor physics and electrical characterization as well as the production of complex semiconductor heterostructures. His work resulted in several publications in relevant scientific journals.

After his training as a patent attorney, Lennart-Knud worked for a well-known patent law firm for several years, handling patent prosecution matters. He developed filing strategies and obtained patents in various technical fields for small start-ups, medium-sized companies and international corporations. He also represented the interests of clients in opposition and appeal proceedings.

Lennart-Knud is at present involved in several complex cases in which he supports national and international clients in legal disputes in terms of nullity proceedings in combination with patent infringement proceedings. He also provides his technical expertise to the firm's lawyers in general questions.

Another focus of his work is the preparation of legal and infringement opinions on patents, as well as freedom-to-operate analyses.

Through his education and his work for a wide range of clients, Lennart-Knud has gained extensive experience in various technical fields, including semiconductor technology, electronics, computer-implemented (software) inventions, medical technology, optics and mechanics.
