Daniel is an associate in the commercial and regulatory technology team. Daniel focuses on how existing and emerging laws and technologies such as AI, crypto, digital assets and cloud computing affect financial institutions, FinTech and technology companies. 

Daniel is committed to connecting the dots of his interests in arts, sports, fashion and the environment with law and technology, and to understanding how interconnected set of laws relating to AI, digital assets, privacy and cybersecurity, insurance, product regulation and compliance, AML/KYC and payments affect clients.  

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Daniel served in the Korean military as an interpreter, and the United Nations as a peacekeeper in South Sudan. 

Representative experience

Advising on a major bank on its new products that utilise AI as underlying technology from various legal perspectives including AI, privacy, bank secrecy and commercial laws.

Advising a financial institution on the risk assessment associated with integrating generative AI into its business operations.

Advising NFT companies with regard to the regulatory implications of issuing NFTs and providing an NFT marketplace.

Advising major banks on their outsourcing and embedded finance arrangements with service providers.

Acting for technology companies in connection with the product launch of AR/VR headsets.

Advising payment companies on whether their services and products could be considered insurance.
