Janan is very much a transactional lawyer appreciated by his clients for his hands on involvement, clear and proactive advice and focus on getting deals done. He has extensive experience in all types of real estate work and particular knowledge in the hotel and retail sectors.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells Janan was a Director at a major law firm and before then a senior associate at a magic circle law firm.
Janan studied law at Wadham College, Oxford. He also studied for and passed the New York Bar exams.
Representative experience
Advising a major UK hotel group over a period of 5 years on the acquisition and development of hotel sites and also the TOGC business acquisition of operating hotels.
Advising institutional fund managers and investors on forward funding agreements relating to retail and industrial sites.
Advising operators and individual owners on hotel leases and hotel management and franchise agreements.
Acting both for institutional landlords and tenants in the negotiation of retail and office leases and landlord and tenant matters.
Advising on the property aspects of pre-pack administration transactions and acting both for administrators and purchasers.
Advising a major pub company on three separate corporate deals involving the purchase of pub portfolios.
Involved in a number of pub securitisations and tap issues (total value in excess of £1bn) and acted for both the underwriter and the pub company.
