María is a senior associate at the Corporate Department of the Madrid office since October 2021.

She is a notable practitioner in private equity and M&A transactions who advises national and international private equity funds and corporates within the M&A industry. She has strong experience within cross-border deals in EMEA, LATAM, and US, and her specific areas of experience include sectors such as Health, Retail, Real Estate, and Energy.

She has depth experience analysing all legal work streams within M&A and private equity deals: legal due diligence processes, SPA and SHA drafting and negotiation, closings, and commercial agreements. She also serves as vice secretary of the board for Spanish portfolio companies of major private equity firms, advising on corporate governance and contractual matters.

She frequently works with Graciela Llaneza and is the main point of contact of important clients on the day-to-day relationship, managing HL teams on-deal from different areas and jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, María worked in the department of an important international law firm, where she gained experience advising national and international clients on a wide range of corporate and contractual matters.

Representative experience

Advised Borromin Capital and its portfolio company Protect Medical in the acquisition of Promeba, a Spanish emergency medical services (EMS) specialist.
Advised Naxicap Partners and its portfolio company myStromer AG in the acquisition of a majority stake in Desiknio, a premium e-bike manufacturer.
Advised the Spanish restaurant chain Pizzerias di Carlos in the sale of a majority stake to DeA Capital.
Advised Gimv, a Belgian private equity firm, on the acquisition of a majority stake in NTA IBERICA, S.L., specialized construction sector.
Advised GED Capital in the acquisition of six companies within the biotechnology sector in a buy and build process.*
Advised MaaS Global in the acquisition of Wondo, an urban mobility platform offering integrated access to multiple modes of transport, from Ferrovial.*
Advised Lineage Logistics, LLC, an American temperature-controlled industrial REIT and logistics solutions provider, in its acquisition of Frinavarra, a leading operator of refrigerated warehousing, and a cold storage warehouse facility from Frioastur.*
