Evan Guimond is an investigations and white collar defense attorney.  Evan represents clients facing investigations and enforcement actions brought by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Treasury Department, and various congressional committees.  Evan is also an expert in the area of intercollegiate athletics, having served on both the NCAA enforcement and academic and membership affairs staffs.

Evan regularly assists public company clients in SEC enforcement investigations involving restatement and accounting matters.  Evan also counsels financial institution clients facing regulatory enforcement investigations under the Bank Secrecy Act, and advises clients on BSA/AML compliance.  Additionally, Evan has significant experience representing corporate and individual clients facing congressional investigations, including preparing clients for congressional testimony. 

Evan rejoined Hogan Lovells after serving as an assistant director of enforcement at the NCAA.  In this role, Evan led investigations of potential NCAA violations related to recruiting, NIL benefits, sports wagering issues, the provision of extra benefits to student athletes, and impermissible advance scouting in college football.  Prior to his time with the enforcement staff, Evan was an academic and membership affairs staff member responsible for NCAA waivers and rules interpretations.

Represented leading companies in the food industry in connection with civil and criminal DOJ enforcement investigations.

Represented a foreign manufacturing company in a federal criminal sanctions and money-laundering investigation.

Represented a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in connection with a Congressional investigation.

Advised a foreign financial institution regarding the applicability of U.S. anti-money laundering regulations to its business practices.

Advised a casino regarding compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, know-your-customer requirements, and suspicious activity reporting requirements.

Advised a casino in connection with a regulatory review involving potentially suspicious transactions, concerns regarding customers' source of funds, and transaction monitoring issues.

Represented a casino in an investigation by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

Led NCAA enforcement investigation of football and basketball programs at a Power Five institution in connection with potential violations of recruiting and extra benefit legislation.*

Led NCAA enforcement investigation of Division I football programs in connection with potential violations related to impermissible advance scouting.*

Led NCAA enforcement investigation of baseball program at a Power Five institution in connection with potential violations of sports wagering legislation.*
