Rupinder Garcha advises clients facing complex litigation, as well as enforcement actions and investigations involving the government. She draws upon her experience in government and working with clients in different industries to think critically about the challenges clients face and help them navigate difficult legal matters.
Rupinder has experience representing clients in investigations related to the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She has worked on domestic and international investigations for clients, overseeing teams of attorneys as part of fact discovery, conducting fact-gathering interviews, and preparing presentations before the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission.
Rupinder has also represented clients facing investigations and enforcement actions brought by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. She has worked with clients facing scrutiny under U.S. export control and sanctions laws involving the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security and the Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control.
In law school, Rupinder was exposed to federal investigations and prosecutions as an intern at the U.S. Attorney's Offices for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She also served as the Senior Notes Editor of the New York University Law Review. She was an active member of the National Security Law Society and participated in Georgetown Law's National Security Crisis Law Invitational.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, Rupinder interned at the White House's Domestic Policy Council under the Obama administration, where she focused on criminal justice, civil rights, and gender equality issues. She also worked at the New York State Attorney General's Office in the Taxpayer Protection Bureau.
