Construction Conference: The next decade in construction and engineering

Practical insights to keep your projects and teams on track

We're pleased to announce that this year's Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Day Conference will take place on Tuesday, 3 October where The Right Honorable Lord Justice Coulson, Lord Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, will deliver the keynote address.

We would be delighted to invite you to join us in person or virtually via Zoom, where we will explore what the next ten years could look like for you and your teams. We aim to give you key insights and information to help you secure the best positions in the coming decade's projects, amidst the post-pandemic challenges of economic, environmental and geopolitical instability.

Our panels, including one comprised entirely of senior legal team members and general counsel from leading construction and engineering firms, will tackle questions such as:

  • What types of projects are in the pipeline and how will they be procured and funded?
  • What's market when drafting contracts in 2023?
  • How do I handle disputes before instructing external counsel?
  • What makes for good management of the supply chain, interface issues, and new technology risk on "giga-projects", particularly in the energy and transport sectors?
  • How do I improve my position when costs are spiraling?
  • What's best practice for in-house legal teams when it comes to budgets, ESG, resourcing teams, artificial intelligence and legal technology?
  • How can I present my case most persuasively to an arbitrator?
Lunchtime seminars will cover the UK's public procurement regime and Building Safety Act, construction insurance, and e-discovery in the US and UK.

You'll also have the chance to question members of our global construction and engineering team and market leading barristers, arbitrators and mediators (and so, effectively, obtain "free advice") and to network during breaks, lunch and a post-conference reception for those who join us in person.

We look forward to welcoming you on 3 October.
