Emma J. Dowell relies on her strong background in business and finance to advise clients on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions.

Emma's career began before law school, when she spent several years as a legal assistant at a prominent Virginia tax and estate law firm. While at the University of Virginia School of Law, Emma worked as a research assistant dealing with current problems and trends in corporate governance, and served as Senior Financial Editor of the Virginia Law and Business Review. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a double major in finance and accounting and a minor in classical studies. While at Georgetown, Emma was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society and served as Communications Director for the Georgetown Accounting Society.

Advised MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, on the acquisition of the federal division of Attain, LLC for US$430m.

Advising PPG Industries in the sale of its flat glass operations to glass manufacturer Vitro S.A.B. de C.V.

Advising Noblis on the sale of its RASMAS business to an affiliate of Inmar.

Advising MAXIMUS, Inc. on its acquisition of Ascend Management Innovations LLC, one of the leading providers of specialized health assessments to U.S. state government agencies.

Advising Fiesta Mart on its sale to Bodega Latina Corporation.

Advising a manufacturer on its investment in a software startup.

Advising MAXIMUS on the sale of its K-12 education business, including TIENET, to PowerSchool, a portfolio company of Vista Equity Partners.
