Juan Arturo does not only represent clients in courts or arbitration but also advises, plans and executes complex pre-litigation legal strategies in both contentious and non-contentious matters. He overcomes pitfalls to achieve the most desirable outcomes. He has extensive experience in domestic and international disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and bankruptcy.

He represents clients in courts, arbitrations, mediations and negotiations. Having worked in our New York office and completed his LL.M. in London, Juan Arturo can seamlessly navigate both civil and common law legal systems. He has an extensive understanding of issues in Mexico and Latin America as well as other jurisdictions.

He has represented clients in a wide range of civil, commercial, administrative and complex constitutional complex disputes, including shareholder disputes, product liability, damages (including moral damage), international supplier contracts, M&As, information technology, construction & engineering and insurance, among others.

Juan Arturo's experience includes arbitration proceedings under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM), together with other major institutions. His arbitration experience also includes seeking provisional measures in aid of arbitration, as well as annulment, recognition and enforcement of domestic and international arbitration awards before courts. 

As a member of the firm's Global Energy Studio, our Energy industry team think tank, Juan Arturo engages with the latest energy sector developments and couples his legal advice with market insights.

In the field of academia, Juan Arturo is professor of Civil and Commercial Proceedings at Universidad Anahuac and Arbitration at the School of Judicial Studies and Research of Guanajuato Judicial Branch.

Represented an international infrastructure and energy company in commercial arbitrations regarding the construction of a submarine pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico.

Represent an international IT company in a claim for damages regarding alleged banking fraud (cybercrime).

Represent a German automotive company in commercial litigation regarding international supplier agreements.

Represented a multinational infrastructure and construction company in international commercial arbitration derived from the construction of submarine pipelines in Venezuela.

Represent a transnational life sciences company in cross-border product liability litigation regarding the manufacture of a life science product.

Represent a Spanish construction company in commercial litigation regarding a freeway construction dispute in the Estado de México.

Represent a multinational insurance company regarding litigation filed by 19 insured people claiming the nullity of the insurance company’s merger.

Represented a group of shareholders regarding a conflict between them in one of the largest pasteurization companies in Mexico.

Represent an international infrastructure and energy company in commercial arbitrations regarding the construction of pipelines and transportation service of natural gas.

Represented an international IT company as a major creditor in the commercial bankruptcy of the Mexican airline Mexicana de Aviación.

Advised  a multinational IT company in a pre-litigation legal strategy to avoid an imminent complex litigation regarding the construction of a Digital Marketplace.
