Juan  Arturo Dueñas Rodríguez

Juan Arturo knows how to overcome pitfalls to achieve a desirable outcome, both in and out of litigation. He has significant experience in domestic and international disputes, including litigation, arbitration and bankruptcy.

Juan Arturo is a trained litigator in the broad field of complex commercial litigation. Whether disputes are related to oil and gas, construction, technologies, commodities, insurance, shareholder or consumer issues, he can provide insight into how to pursue complex litigation.

Having worked in our New York office and completed his LL.M. degree at King’s College London, Juan Arturo expertly navigates between civil and common law legal systems. He has an extensive understanding of issues in Mexico and Latin America.

His arbitration practice encompasses annulment, recognition and enforcement of domestic and international arbitration awards and foreign judgments before the courts. Juan Arturo’s experience includes arbitration proceedings under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM), together with other major institutions.

Juan Arturo has also served as adjunct professor of Reorganization/Bankruptcy and Constitutional Proceeding courses at Universidad Panamericana and Universidad Anahuac. Additionally, Juan Arturo and Luis Omar Guerrero R. co-wrote and published two articles for the Annual Congress of the Mexican Bar Association.

Represent one of the most important livestock companies in Mexico in an ICC international commercial arbitration.

Defeated a moral damage claim filed by a passenger on behalf of an international airline.

Being involved in the representation of a Brazilian owner in an ICC international arbitration concerning a dispute over engineering, procurement, and construction of an FPSO.

Represented a multinational IT company as a major creditor in one of the most relevant and iconic reorganization and bankruptcy proceedings in Mexico.

Defend an insurance company in a high-value commercial litigation against a government entity.

Represented a majority group of shareholders in a dispute arose out within of one of the largest dairy companies in Mexico.

Represent a Life-Science company on product liability claim before State and Federal Courts.

Represented South American banking institution as a creditor in bankruptcy proceedings of Mexican housing-development companies.
