As part of the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects practice in London, Amy Cleaves has experience working on international energy projects and transactions, including power projects, oil and gas pipeline projects and project financing. With a focus on emerging markets, Amy works on projects that have tangible positive impacts on the local communities and governments. Her work includes advising on regulatory regimes, asset acquisition, new country entry across Eurasia and Africa, renewable energy financing, together with advising how the global energy transition will affect oil and gas companies. 

As a founding member of the Business Integrity Group, Amy advises public and private sector clients on how to legally enshrine purpose and ensure their social mission drives sustainable, profitable growth. Amy helps her clients match their brand values and ethical standards with legal substance and navigate the ever-growing body of "integrity laws".

Amy is a member of the firm's 50:50 Diversity Committee and sits on the Social Enterprise Board.

Representative experience

Advising Petrobras on various contractual issues relating to LNG sale and purchase agreements.
Advising ExxonMobil on various contractual issues and joint venture developments relating to LNG sale and purchase agreements.
Advising a consortium led by BP on US$45bn Shah Deniz 2 gas project in Azerbaijan, involving a 3,500km gas value chain to Italy.
Advising Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company on gas allocation arrangements under long-term gas sales agreements.
Advising John Laing Environmental Assets Group on the acquisition and project financing of two on-shore wind farms in the UK.
Advising John Laing Environmental Assets Group on the acquisition of an anaerobic digestion plant in the UK.
Advising Pantheon Ventures on the acquisition of a number of solar plants and wind-farms in multiple European jurisdictions.
