Hanson brings a diverse background in law, military experience, and government service to his practice, offering clients a multifaceted perspective on complex legal issues. Hanson advises clients across transportation modes and assists with navigating regulatory requirements involving agencies such as the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and other federal entities.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, Hanson served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Kevin A. Ohlson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, where he gained extensive experience drafting judicial opinions and analyzing legal issues under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an editor of The Georgetown Law Journal and a student attorney with the Georgetown Law Domestic Violence Clinic. Hanson also holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Prior to law school, Hanson served as an Apache helicopter pilot in the United States Army with combat deployments to Afghanistan and Syria. He continues to serve as an officer in the Army Reserve.
