As a second-year associate in Hogan Lovells' Antitrust, Competition, and Economic Regulation (ACER) practice group, Carter uses his knowledge to provide unique insights and nuanced perspectives. 

Before attending law school, Carter was a consultant for The Winvale Group LLC, and during law school, he worked for two years as a law clerk for Lockheed Martin Corporation.

For the past four years, Carter has also served on the James Madison University Law Alumni Board. In this role, he mentors undergraduate students interested in pursuing legal careers, contributes to university decisions regarding the pre-law program, and assists with scholarship fundraising efforts.

Represented Columbus McKinnon in its acquisition of Kito Crosby.

Represented IBM in its acquisitions of Confluent Inc. (2026) and HashiCorp (2025).
