Mariana F. Amaral

Mariana advises private investors, multilateral and financial institutions, and project sponsors in complex cross-border development and financing transactions that focus on infrastructure and renewable and traditional energy projects.

Mariana began her career at Hogan Lovells in the Rio de Janeiro office, where she assisted clients in various international business transactions across different asset classes, including mortgage originations, loan workouts, joint ventures, acquisitions, and sale/leasebacks. She has also been involved in major ICC arbitrations and one of the most high-profile corruption investigations in the history of Brazil. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish and fully qualified as a lawyer in both Brazil and Washington, D.C., she is able to assist clients of different backgrounds around the world in achieving their business goals.

Prior to obtaining her first law degree, Mariana worked as a journalist for the largest TV channel in Brazil. Her communications and journalism background translate effectively into her practice. She exercises great skill in writing and revising contracts to clearly and efficiently reflect business deals and achieve her clients' objectives.
