Renee is an Associate in the Intellectual Property group of our Hong Kong office. 

Renee advises international and regional clients on both contentious and transactional areas of intellectual property law. She frequently advises clients on how to register, protect and commercialise their intellectual property assets.  She has advised clients in a range of industry sectors, spanning consumer brands, arts & culture, hospitality & leisure, life sciences, technology, financial institutions, education, and sports, media & entertainment.

Renee also provides commercial and regulatory advice on data privacy matters.

With a commitment to community investment, Renee actively engages in pro bono matters. She has experience advising clients on proceedings with the Equal Opportunities Commission.

Representative experience

Acting for Merck Sharpe & Dohme Corp. in a  multi-jurisdictional trade mark and contractual dispute over use of the name "Merck".

Advising on hospitality partnership and sponsorship agreements for a major sports and multi-purpose venue.

Advising a client in the arts & cultural sector on donation and collaboration agreements.

Advising a Japanese consumer brand on trade mark revocation proceedings in Hong Kong.

 Advising an American building materials supplier on drafting a know-how protection contract.

Advising a well-known artiste on the enforcement of intellectual property, including take-down actions against fraudulent online contents.

Advising Hong Kong companies on data privacy compliance, including direct marketing and implications of China’s Personal Information Protection Law.

Advising various statutory bodies in Hong Kong on dispute-related work (e.g. regulatory investigations, contractual claims) and matters involving intellectual property and data privacy.

Advising a major Chinese telecommunications company and content producer on enforcement against unauthorised contents  and customs recordal in Hong Kong.
