Peter advises on a wide range of issues including major contracts, outsourcings, strategic alliances, joint ventures and M&A. He has particular experience in advising on complex networks of contracts and in devising innovative commercial structures.

He is currently joint head of our Commercial Practice and previously served for 6 years on Lovells' International Operations Committee.

Peter's work covers a range of industries and he has particular knowledge of media, consumer products, marketing services (in relation to which he has been listed as a "Legal Expert") and air traffic services.

His experience includes:

• part privatisation and subsequent restructuring of the UK's air traffic control service

• outsourcing projects for O2 (with IBM) and Xerox (with the Department for Work and Pensions) each worth over £1bn

• creation of the UK's Nectar loyalty programme and the subsequent sale of its operating company for £300m

• a wide range of projects for ITV plc including the sale of Ask Jeeves, the acquisition of digital multiplex operator SDN and the Kangaroo video on demand project

• the relationships between Waitrose and online grocer Ocado and pharmacy retailer Boots

• arrangements between the BBC and a range of other broadcast platforms to enable the BBC's public service channels first to be available on satellite and cable TV

• restructuring of a portfolio of UK's leading motor racing circuits (including Silverstone and Brands Hatch race tracks) and the British Grand Prix and their subsequent sale

• construction and operation of the facilities for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games (including the City of Manchester Stadium)

• devising and implementing the operation of the Extended Choice Network for the UK Department of Health

• the project by which The Guardian and The Observer newspapers moved from broadsheet to Berliner format

• the sale and outsource of the travellers cheque and foreign currency businesses of Barclays Bank.
