Heiko Tschauner is a partner in the Munich office and heads the German business restructuring and insolvency practice ("Restructuring Team of the Year", IFLR Europe Awards 2009). He advises on all aspects of insolvency law including its interfaces to corporate law. Heiko focuses on advising banks and companies in the course of restructurings and on assisting investors in acquisitions of insolvent or distressed companies. Further, his everyday business covers the representation of creditors in insolvency proceedings and the advice on insolvency voidance matters and on contractual protection against insolvency risks. Heiko Tschauner is specialized in questions of International and European insolvency law and he advises on strategies concerning European group insolvencies.

From recent cases Heiko has broad experience in the automotive sector, telecommunications, aircraft, retail, real estate and media industries. On the market he is described as "very responsive lawyer with great knowledge of restructuring projects” (Chambers Global 2010) who proves to be "target oriented" (Legal 500 EMEA 2010). In Chambers Global 2010 Heiko Tschauner is listed amongst the "Leaders in their Field".

Heiko Tschauner is member of the German Working Group on Insolvency Law and Restructuring of the German Lawyers Association, of the Corporate Restructuring Association Germany, of TMA Germany and of INSOL Europe.
Heiko Tschauner studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich (Ph.D.) and qualified as a lawyer in 1999. He is admitted to the German bar.
