Webinar: Insurance M&A - Recent developments in the sector

Tuesday, 23 May 2017
17:00pm - 17:50pm BST/ 18:00 - 18:50 CEST/ 12:00-12:50 EDT
London

Despite geo-political uncertainty and below-trend economic growth, M&A volume in 2016 remained strong particularly for cross-border transactions.

A number of the trends underpinning recent M&A activity – exceptionally low interest rates and the availability of cash – continue to exist today. So what can we expect from M&A in the insurance industry in 2017? Will businesses pause in the pursuit of their M&A plans as a consequence of the forthcoming UK elections, Article 50 negotiations and Trump's agenda amongst other factors or will M&A activity continue?

We will also look at M&A developments, such as the increasing use of acquisition finance and of warranty and indemnity insurance, and consider how these trends will develop in the insurance industry.

Our forthcoming webinar will be covering these and other trends and how they are affecting M&A in the insurance sector from a legal and financial perspective. The webinar will be hosted by members of our global insurance industry team from London and New York and they will be joined by Gavin Palmer, a partner in KPMG's life actuarial team and Philip Tippin, a partner in KPMG's general insurance actuarial team. The session will last around 50 minutes.
