During his 20 years in corporate finance and M&A practice, Stuart Barr has been involved in many of the largest and most complex IPOs and M&A transactions.

Clients rely on him to lead complicated transactions and develop transaction structures to address complicated or novel situations and to help negotiate large multifaceted transactions. Stuart also has significant experience in leading the corporate aspects of investigations for publicly traded companies.

Stuart's practice focuses on REITs and other entities and individuals engaged in the real estate industry, including owners and operators of hotels, office buildings, data centers, multifamily properties, triple-net lease, and self-storage companies. Stuart also works on IPOs and M&A transactions for companies in the government contracts and software industries.

Stuart has represented issuers and underwriters in IPOs and other public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, reorganizations, and recapitalizations. Stuart has participated in acquisitions and business combinations involving mergers, stock purchases, asset transactions, partnership rollups and operating partnership unit transactions (both public and private), leveraged buyouts, and tender offers. In addition to leading securities and corporate finance aspects of transactions, Stuart regularly advises clients concerning compliance with the federal securities laws and regulations, including those relating to corporate governance and disclosure obligations.
