Katy Rankin

Katy combines legal skills and a broad background in information technology to deliver results-driven solutions for her clients. Her practice focuses on assisting clients with their complex intellectual property litigation, and she has particular acumen in assisting clients within the technology, healthcare, energy and natural resources, and government contracting sectors.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Katy worked for a large IT consulting company. She began her career as the sole technical writer for the organization, collaborating with data storage and virtualization engineers, network security specialists, and wireless, Voice-over-IP, and physical network technicians. She also worked as a network engineer focusing on information security solutions, earning technical certifications in networking and security.

While in law school, Katy served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Society. She worked as a staff editor for University of Denver Water Law Review. She also coached a high school mock trial team and interned with a local district attorney's office.
