Joseph Newton

Joe is a member of the Hogan Lovells international banking and finance team and is based in our Paris office.  He works with a broad range of clients, including banks and corporations to provide solutions to their financing requirements.

Joe advises on financings for cross-border transactions with particular experience in the maritime and aviation sectors.  He has acted in a range of transactions involving international shipping companies and airlines based in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

He also has experience of bank regulatory and enforcement issues enabling him to assist clients with meeting their on-going regulatory requirements and with issues that may arise if a default scenario occurs after the completion of a financing transaction.

Advising a French shipping and oil and gas services company on the English law aspects of the sale and leaseback of 51 vessels to a Chinese bank.*

Advising a group of banks on the financing through a French SPC of 3 aircraft for a Chinese airline.*

Advising a multinational bank on Superyacht financings for high net worth individuals.

Advising a multinational bank on enforcement issues and the realisation of secured assets following the default of a high net worth borrower.
