Chris is a Senior Associate in the banking team at Hogan Lovells' Hong Kong office. Chris has experience advising borrowers, financial institutions and sponsors on a wide range of cross-border debt financings and re-financings, including syndicated and bilateral bank loans, across a wide range of industry sectors. Chris' predominant areas of focus include real estate finance and leveraged and acquisition finance. However, Chris also has experience in asset based lending and Islamic financing. Chris has previously been seconded to HSBC and Crédit Agricole. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Chris has also worked in London and Bucharest (Romania).

Representative experience

Advising Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in respect to their lending of a term loan to Thor to finance the acquisition of 105-109 Oxford Street, London.

Advising  Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and BNP Paribas, London Branch in respect to their lending of a £100m term loan facility to an SPV set up by Capital & Countries Properties Plc to refinance the purchase of the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London.

Advising HSBC Bank Plc in respect to their lending a term loan to an SPV set up by Europa to finance the acquisition of Velocity Village, Sheffield.

Advising HSBC Bank Plc in respect to their lending of a £150m term loan to an SPV set up by HSBC Alternative Investments Limited to refinance the acquisition of certain properties located in Brindley Place,  Birmingham.

Advising a syndicate of 15 banks, arranged by Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited and Eastern Bank Limited, in relation to a loan of BDT40bn to Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd, one of the largest telecommunications providers in Bangladesh.

Advising BNP Paribas on a HK$1.78bn loan towards the indirect acquisition of shares in a leading real estate services provider.

Advising Goldman Sachs in relation to its debt financing to the promoter of MedPlus for the purposes of buying out existing private equity investors.

Advising Citi as Coordinator, and Mandated Lead Arranger, in a syndicated deal involving 9 banks participating in a US$310,000,000 conventional and Islamic facility to finance Top Glove's acquisition of Aspion.

Advising Promontoria Hampton (1) Limited in regards to its lending to Nordic Aktiv for the purpose of refinancing a multicurrency term loan facility relating to a large portfolio of properties across Scandinavia.

Acting on the borrower side for Regal Homes in relation to their borrowing of circa £45.9m for the purpose of constructing 49 residential units in St John's Wood, London.
