Matthew helps product manufacturers manage difficult relationships. Whether advising a life science company facing a group action in England, or helping a global product manufacturer work through claims across Europe, Matthew's extensive experience of complex, cross-border litigation means he gets the commercial context and quickly finds the best solution. Matthew is a Partner in the product liability team in our London office and is part of our international life sciences network.

He focuses on the pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotech industries, and is also experienced in the manufacturing, oil and gas, tobacco and consumer goods industries. Matthew helped one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies defend product liability claims and navigate a regulatory investigation following the voluntary withdrawal of a blockbuster product, he successfully defended an international oil company facing the largest environmental group action ever brought in the English courts, and he has coordinated the defence of a global manufacturer to claims across a number of jurisdictions following the supply of products to customers in the life sciences sector.

Matthew is recognized as one of the leading Product Liability Defence lawyers in the UK by Who's Who Legal: Product Liability Defence 2016.
