Matthew Bousfield is known for providing clients with practical and commercial solutions to achieve their goals. Matthew was based in London before relocating to Singapore six years ago. He combines significant international proficiency with local knowledge to assist on complex cross-border transactions across South East Asia. He focuses particularly on clients looking to expand into Asia. Matthew helps his clients succeed by advising on corporate, commercial, employment and data privacy matters across a range of industry sectors.

Matthew's keen interest in law, placed him in the top ten students at university. Matthew is a member of the Venture Capital, Private Equity Association and the British Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. A strong believer in helping those less fortunate, Matthew heads the Pro Bono and Citizenship activities of the Singapore office, helping advise pro bono and entrepreneurial organisations, as well as organise charitable fundraising events.

Advised GE Healthcare on its U.S.$1.065bn acquisition of three healthcare business lines from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.

Advised Navis Capital Partners on the sale of the ECO Group to Beijing Capital, Singapore's leading waste management company.

Advised on the acquisition of a solar energy business and formation of a solar energy joint venture in the Philippines.

Advised Navis Capital Partners on the sale of Profab International Limited's manufacturing, fabrication and engineering operations in Singapore and Indonesia.

Advising Laboratory Corporation of America Inc. on general corporate, regulatory, employment and commercial matters.

Previously full-time secondment to Zurich Life Insurance (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. to assist Zurich in establishing its life insurance business in Singapore.

Walmart Inc. on the US$16 billion acquisition of a 77 percent majority stake in Flipkart Private Limited, the prominent Indian e-commerce marketplace company.
