Ka Yin has a broad client base and acts for domestic and international banks, financial institutions, funds and companies. Ka Yin advises on a full range of finance transactions, including derivatives, structured products and debt and security structures.

She also advises creditors, bondholders, debtors and insolvency practitioners (including liquidators, provisional liquidators and receivers) on derivatives, structured products and debt and security structures in domestic and cross-border restructuring and insolvency (contentious and non-contentious) matters.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Ka Yin was an associate in the Finance Group at a U.S. law firm based in Hong Kong. She is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales, and Scotland. She speaks English, Cantonese and Hakka.

Advising Société Générale on insurance derivatives.

Advising banks and other financial institutions in relation to drawdowns under debt issuance programmes.

Advising banks and other financial institutions across Asia on ISDA documentation (including termination provisions and close-out mechanisms) in times of market stress and insolvency.

Advising a major U.S. Bank on the licensing of a proprietary index to a PRC financial institution.

Advising the holders of bonds issued by Indian company on enforcement of rights, potential restructuring and sale options, and liaising with local counsel in India.*

Advising an American based global fund on CDS arrangements against a share-backed financing.

Advising a PRC mining company on debt financing, including issuance of warrants.*
