Johannes Goldbecher, LL.M.

Johannes Goldbecher's work spans from infringement and preliminary injunction proceedings at the German district and appellate courts and revocation proceedings at the Federal Patent Court and the German Federal Supreme Court to advise on IP rights in transactions and on employee inventions. Johannes also has vast experience in drafting and negotiating license, collaboration and IP transfer agreements. Additionally, he closely accompanies product developments from an IP rights angle, for instance with freedom-to-operate analyses or with advice regarding development and funding agreements. 

Johannes is a senior associate in our Hamburg-based IP group and focuses on all aspects of intellectual property (IP), in particular patent, trademark and design law. He has extensive experience in litigating IP rights for international and national clients especially from the pharmaceutical, engineering and life sciences sector.

Johannes started his legal education at the University of Rostock, where he passed his first state exam. As part of his postgraduate studies with an emphasis on the field of IP, he has written a master's thesis on the IP protection of press products and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Rostock. Johannes served his legal traineeship (Rechtsreferendariat) at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg. During his legal traineeship he worked, inter alia, in the patent law group of our New York office.
