Izanne Geldenhuys focuses on structured trade and commodity finance. She advises clients across the commodity value chain including investors, producers, traders, processors and financial institutions in multiple jurisdictions.

Izanne also has experience in real estate, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate work.

Representative experience

Advised a syndicate of lenders on a pan-African commodities financing, implementing security interests in eight African jurisdictions.

Advised a global energy company on its coal supply and financing arrangements in South Africa.

Advised a trade finance fund on a trade finance facility for the export of vanilla produced in Madagascar.

Advised lender syndicate on an uncommitted borrowing base stock and working capital facility for exporters of perishable commodities in Ghana, Brazil and the Netherlands.

Advised a debt fund in relation to a stock and working capital facility made available to a Chilean copper producer.

Advised a debt fund in relation to a receivables finance facility made available to a South African exporter of perishable commodities.

Advised a debt fund in relation to a prepayment facility made available to a Mauritian exporter (and Nigerian producer) of soft commodities.

Advised a Swiss Bank on its financing to a Swiss metal trader and, in particular, its security arrangements in South Africa.
