Zoe Aarons

A senior  associate in the business restructuring and insolvency group in London, Zoe joined the firm in 2011.

She generally works for banks, funds and other creditors, advising on all aspects of domestic and cross-border restructurings (bilateral and multi-bank) and insolvencies, including security reviews, amend and extends, contingency planning, debt/equity swaps, security enforcement and implementing a restructuring through a planned insolvency process such as a pre-packaged administration.

She also has experience in acting for insolvency practitioners in pre-packs and administration sales. Zoe has also acted for lenders and borrowers in non-distressed real estate finance, global syndicated loans, leverage finance and general corporate lending deals.

More recently, Zoe has advised on a number of large loan portfolio transactions, leading the team on the due diligence part of the transactions, and on a number of individual debt sales. Zoe did a six month secondment to the Royal Bank of Scotland real estate finance team in 2010/2011.

Representative Experience

Advising one of the liquidity facility providers on the high-profile £2.2bn restructuring of Punch Taverns.

Advising GE Capital on the divestment of its European assets following the sale of its $23bn commercial real estate book to Wells Fargo and Blackstone.

Advising the Security Agent in the restructuring of facilities provided to NEF Telecom through a Bulgarian security enforcement and an English scheme of arrangement.

Advising the lenders on the restructuring of and contingency planning for secured facilities provided to Jersey Group of companies providing care homes in the UK.

Advising the Agent in relation to the sale of Lambert Smith Hampton through a pre-packaged administration.

Advising on the restructuring, reorganisation and refinancing of McAleer & Rushe, a major property investment and development Group.

Advising the lender on the debt restructuring of a luxury mobile phone manufacturer/seller, including on the sale of the Group and repayment of facilities.
