Yuiko Matsumura is a rare asset of our Tokyo office, being qualified in both Japan and in New York. Yuiko focuses on multi-jurisdictional intellectual property prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio management. 

Yuiko's work includes filing and prosecuting trademark applications, managing the recordal of trademark assignments for mergers and company splits, enforcing clients' intellectual property rights through multi-jurisdictional custom procedures, conducting trademark clearance searches and advising on trademark portfolio management.

Yuiko studied law at Chuo University (LL.B). After passing the Japanese patent bar exam as one of the country's youngest applicants in 2009, Yuiko continued her studies at Boston University School of Law (LL.M in American Law and J.D). Yuiko also completed a dual degree program with National University of Singapore (LL.M in Asian Legal Studies) as the school's sole exchange student in 2013.

Representative experience

Yuiko advices a large electronic company daily in its custom seizures in the European Union and the United States.
