An experienced senior associate in our Australian office, Reuben van Werkum has a real depth of understanding across all corporate matters. Reuben's skillset spans private M&A transactional work, capital markets (IPO and secondary fundraisings), corporate restructuring, commercial contracts, foreign investment approval and on-going advice for both private and public companies operating in Australia. He is also experienced in New Zealand law matters, having practised at a top tier firm in Auckland.

Reuben's passion and strength lies in providing quality strategic advice to offshore clients on investments into Australia, with a focus on private equity transactions. His ability to service all aspects of his clients' corporate needs and in understanding complex transactions quickly makes Reuben a valuable resource to these clients. Advising Swiss-based global investment manager Partners Group on its A$400 million acquisition of the Guardian Early Learning Group childcare centre business.*

Advising Mantra Group Limited (one of Australasia's leading hotel groups) on its A$449 million IPO, significant secondary capital raisings and ongoing corporate advice.*

Advising private equity and investment advisory firm CVC Capital Partners on various transactions in Australia and on exit of existing investments.*

Acting for Partners Group on various private equity and infrastructure investments (including ports, commercial property, wind farm assets and PPP rail projects).*

Advising Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited (one of the world's largest dairy co-operatives) on its 'Trading Among Farmers' capital restructure.*

Advising Fonterra on the establishment of its Farmers Shareholders' Market and the NZ$500m IPO of the 'Fonterra Shareholders Fund' (listed unit trust).*

Advising NYSE-listed CEB Inc (Corporate Advisory Board) on the acquisition of a number of corporate advisory and big data investments.*

Advising Pacific Smiles Group Limited (a leading dental centre operator in Australia) on its A$200 million IPO and ongoing listing rules/corporate advice.*

Advising LANDesk Inc (U.S.) on the acquisition of a data analytics software business in Australia.*

Advising Pfizer Inc on the New Zealand aspects of its US$2.2 billion division of its animal healthcare business and IPO as Zoetis Inc.*

Advising Telecom New Zealand (now, Spark) on the disposal of its Software Solutions business to Infosys Technologies.*

Advising AIG/Chartis on its corporate restructuring and licensing in New Zealand as the first insurer under the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act 2010.*

Extensive experience advising on foreign investment rules in Australia and obtaining FIRB approvals for corporate and foreign government investor clients.*

Advising on securities laws in Australia and New Zealand, and acting on various fundraising transactions (including private placements, SPP, convertible note issues).*
