As part of the Life Sciences practice of Hogan Lovells Brussels, Alexander Wenzel advises clients on European Union and national regulation of medicinal products, medical devices, cosmetics, biotechnology products and foodstuffs. He assists clients in navigating the multijurisdictional regulatory requirements governing their activities such as conduct of clinical trials, the transport and storage of genetic materials and the placing on the market of foodstuffs. He assists medical device and pharmaceutical companies in regulatory procedures and compliance with the rules governing the promotion of healthcare products and interactions with healthcare professionals and patient organisations, as well in complying with environmental legislation such as RoHS and WEE. He also frequently advises on aspects of Belgian commercial, administrative and environmental law.
Before qualifying as a Belgian lawyer with Hogan Lovells, Alexander worked as a an external research assistant with a university institute for ethics and medical law. He was a trainee in the infringement procedure coordination unit of the European Commission's Directorate General for the Internal Market.
