Russell Welch is a trusted advisor who uses a practical and collaborative approach to resolving legal issues. He has litigated complex commercial disputes in federal and state court, from the earliest stages through discovery, motion practice, and trial.

Russell has developed a wide range of experience representing clients in the energy, technology, and financial sectors. He has litigated matters involving claims of securities fraud, copyright and patent infringement, breach of contract, and employment discrimination.

A former judicial clerk, Russell has a knack for using federal procedure to his client's advantage and cleanly presenting issues to the court for efficient and favorable resolution, both on the papers and through oral advocacy in the courtroom. Russell has also developed particular subject-matter knowledge in electronic discovery and managing large-scale, complex document collections and reviews.

Russell began his legal career as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Zack Hawthorn of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. During law school, Russell served as an intern for the Honorable Harold R. DeMoss of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Russell regularly represents pro bono clients in immigration court proceedings and before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Obtained favorable settlement of copyright infringement and breach of contract claims for a foreign government client.

Achieved favorable settlement of prisoner's civil rights claims against municipality in federal court.

Obtained asylum for young woman fleeing domestic violence in Honduras.
