Victoria Hordern has over 10 years' experience advising on all aspects of privacy and information law. As counsel in the Privacy and Information Management practice, she has dealt with private and public sector privacy issues both nationally, at EU level and globally.
Victoria has advised on an extensive range of data protection and privacy matters, including outsourcing, solutions for international data transfers, employee monitoring, whistleblowing, data retention, data security as well as online and app privacy issues. She is regularly featured in journals and blogs analysing data privacy developments. Since data privacy issues affect all industries, Victoria has worked with a wide spectrum of clients, including in media and entertainment, energy, technology services, insurance, advertising, financial services, pharmaceutical, e-billing, educational, and retail. Victoria has also advised public sector and private sector organisations on compliance with rules and exemptions under access to information laws. Victoria has contributed to European Privacy: Law and Practice for Data Protection Professionals and to A Manager's Guide to IT Law (Freedom of Information). She holds Certified Information Privacy Professional (Europe) (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) status and is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals Professional Privacy Faculty which provides training on data protection.
