Tom Schmidt focuses his practice at Hogan Lovells on appellate litigation. He has briefed numerous cases before the Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals in a variety of fields, including intellectual property, criminal procedure, class actions, and privacy. He has particular experience in devising creative solutions to complex legal problems.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Tom served as a law clerk to Justice Stephen G. Breyer of the United States Supreme Court. He also served as a law clerk to Merrick B. Garland of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
