Zachary Tan focuses his practice on international arbitrations and cross-border disputes. He represents clients from a wide range of industries, including aviation, automotive, energy, transportation, and financial institutions.
Zachary brings international perspectives to the table – he is a dual-qualified lawyer with experience gained from working in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He understands the regional markets and is a strong asset to clients embroiled in complex disputes spanning multiple jurisdictions, particularly those that involve difficult issues or an Asian element. Zachary enjoys advocacy and has appeared as an advocate on behalf of clients. For instance, Zachary recently acted as counsel for a major Chinese oil company in an LCIA arbitration arising out of a post-M&A tax dispute.
In addition to international arbitrations, Zachary also litigates claims on behalf of clients in the English courts. He has particular experience in the transportation industry, including acting for clients in a high-profile procurement dispute involving London Underground trains, a shareholder dispute in a F1 automotive company, and one of the highest value cartel damages claim brought in Europe involving airlines from multiple jurisdictions.
