Seri Takahashi is a registered foreign lawyer in the firm’s International Arbitration group in Hong Kong. 

Seri has advised on a wide range of cross-border disputes, including arbitrations under the rules of ICC, LCIA, and DIAC, as well as complex tiered proceedings involving third-party expert determination.

Acting for a Chinese SOE in an LCIA arbitration relating to sale and purchase agreements in respect of interests in petroleum production blocks, and associated tax liabilities.

Acting against the Kingdom of Spain in an Energy Charter Treaty arbitration under ICSID Rules, in relation to regulatory changes in the Spanish renewable energy sector.*

Advising an engineering company regarding ICC emergency arbitrator proceedings in relation to a multi-billon USD dispute over payments for an oil refinery project in Latin America.*

Representing an international contractor in a tailored third-party expert proceeding regarding various cost claims against the employer on construction projects in the Middle East.*

Representing a developer in the UAE in a DIAC arbitration relating to the termination of a management contract for a hotel construction project.*

Advising a major multi-business firm in the UAE in a potential dispute against an African government relating to the construction of a large-scale complex facility.*

Providing a training program (including a seminar, written manuals, and arbitrator database) to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with respect to investment treaty arbitration.*

Assisting in providing an expert opinion on Japanese contract law for a major Japanese manufacturing company in connection with an LCIA arbitration case.*

Assisting an arbitrator of the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal, an independent body officially recognised by Fédération Internationale de Basketball, in preparing arbitral awards.*
