'Clients describe as 'practical, user-friendly and efficient''
Chambers 2015
Susan Bright brings her innovative spirit to everything she touches. As leader of the firm's global competition practice for seven years, Susan made sure it became recognised as one of the top practices globally.
Currently a member of the firm's leadership team, she manages our business in the UK and Africa. An antitrust/competition lawyer, Susan helps clients deal with some of the most complex and stressful issues they face, such as intrusive investigations by regulators. For more than 20 years, Susan honed her skills in Brussels, Washington, D.C., and London. Those years taught her that–with more than 100 jurisdictions around the world now with merger control requirements–providing a global strategy is a must.
Today, Susan is often working with colleagues in the U.S., Asia, and elsewhere, to provide a single coordinated global response. She helps clients complete their deals by obtaining the necessary merger clearances in Europe and across the globe. Susan also leads a project to encourage innovation in the way we engage with our clients and each other. Susan helps clients in a range of industries, including financial services, insurance, transportation, and consumer goods. As a Solicitor Advocate, she works with clients in related litigation, including damages claims–now a feature of most antitrust investigations. The Lawyer counts Susan among the "Hot 100" and Legal Business calls her one of the "50 Most Influential Women in Law". Susan is a founding member of the Competition Law Forum, part of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL). She was a Trustee of BIICL for six years, and is an active supporter of the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law.
