Clients and colleagues have praised Steve Levitan for his successful intellectual property litigation practice for over two decades. With an emphasis on patent, trade secret, trademark, and technology contract disputes, his experience with Asia and Silicon Valley companies allows Steve to quickly identify the legal strategies that will be most effective to achieve his clients' objectives.
Steve's clients trust him to be lead counsel in numerous litigation matters. He has first chaired trials, and he's also argued appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Steve's intellectual property litigation experience includes numerous cases before the United States International Trade Commission (ITC), and cases in federal courts, California, and Oregon state courts, as well as arbitrations conducted by the International Chamber of Commerce and the American Arbitration Association.
In addition to his litigation practice, throughout his career, Steve has counseled clients on best practices for protection of trade secrets and confidential information, as well as other forms of intellectual property. Steve also has negotiated intellectual property license agreements, and technology development and transfer agreements.
He has represented national and international clients involved in a wide spectrum of technologies, including semiconductor device design and manufacture, semiconductor fabrication equipment, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, e-commerce, online stock trading, medical devices, nutraceuticals, and cargo straps.
