Cat Schmierer

Cat Schmierer advises public and private companies on a full range of corporate and commercial matters. In particular, she focuses her practice at Hogan Lovells on supporting clients through their most complex and strategic transactions, from mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business combinations to the formation and dissolution of joint ventures, partnerships, and strategic alliances. She also regularly assists clients with private equity, venture capital, and other early stage financing transactions.

As a former Editor-in-Chief of the George Mason Law Review, Cat brings to each matter a wealth of experience on managing effective teams and works collaboratively with her colleagues in Hogan Lovells' numerous other practice areas and offices to bring a coordinated and thoughtful approach to each deal she's involved in.

Cat works with clients across a broad range of industries, including aerospace, defense, and government services; industrials and consumer goods; energy; real estate; and technology. Cat thrives on learning the business of each of her clients and the industries in which they operate to provide the tailored and practical advice necessary to achieve positive outcomes.

Cat also maintains an active and diverse pro bono practice. Her recent efforts include assisting an early stage public benefit corporation with its internal restructuring and representing a federal prisoner with constitutional and civil rights claims. Before joining Hogan Lovells, Cat was an associate at a corporate law firm in Wilmington, Delaware.
